Which thermostats and instruments are necessary for the correct functioning of thermo-fireplaces and pellet stoves? The devices inserted inside these equipment allow safe and correct temperature management. A careful choice of the correct instrumentation during the design phase provides a reliable product to the final consumer, which can guarantee the desired comfort, reducing malfunctions and extending the life of the device.

Both thermo-fireplaces and pellet stoves require a safety check, guaranteed by a capillary safety limiter, able to avoid overheating and malfunctions that could cause very serious damage to the system.

Sometimes a regulation tool is also required, such as a capillary thermoregulator, if not provided for by the electronics installed on board.

Equipment for thermo-fireplaces and pellet stoves

In particular, the safety thermostat is essential for construction in a workmanlike manner, both in compliance with European regulations and for the safety of the final consumer.

The safety limiter is used to open the electric power supply contact of the stove and is positioned in the fuel feed hopper (UNI-EN-14785 standard): in the event of anomalies or overheating, it immediately blocks the power supply and brings the internal temperatures back to an ideal operating level.

A second thermostat with safety limiter can be positioned directly in the water tank in stoves or thermo-fireplaces that allow the production of sanitary hot water (hydro) to avoid also in this case dangerous overheating of the water (below 105°C) and the consequent increase in operating pressure.

A capillary thermoregulator can be used instead to activate / deactivate the stove, the fireplace or the water circulation pump (if the electronic board does not provide it).

Accessory tools

In addition to safety thermoregulators and capillary thermoregulators, thermometers, manometers or thermohygrometers can be installed on stoves and fireplaces, for immediate display of the temperature and pressure of the operating system.

The IMIT range for thermo-fireplaces and pellet stoves

The capillary thermostats and IMIT instruments comply with the most stringent national and international regulatory references, guaranteeing maximum reliability, safety and quality to the manufacturer of stoves or thermo-fireplaces. In particular, the LS1/LS3 safety limiters used in these applications have “positive safety” or the ability to interrupt the power supply to the machine in the event of a mechanical failure (such as cutting the capillary) of the thermostat itself.

For over 40 years, capillary thermostats have been among our best-selling products, and it is possible to choose from more than 7000 codes, based on the required intervention temperatures (from -30°C to 300°C), the material (copper and stainless steel), with different arrangement of electrical contacts, depending on the type of installation, and with different length of the bulb or capillary.

IMIT products comply with European Directives and their use is also approved on equipment for the US and Canadian market, and are certified according to the highest international standards: CE, ENEC, PED, TUV, UL, CSA, EAC, DIN.
