The result is a system that is more accessible, more flexible, and more aligned with current technologies.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>What is Conto Termico?<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Conto Termico is an incentive program managed by the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gse.it\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">GSE<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> that allows beneficiaries to recover part of the costs for energy efficiency improvements or the installation of <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/blog.imit.it\/en\/renewable-energies\/what-is-meant-by-renewable-energy\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">renewable-energy systems<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Unlike tax deductions, the contribution is paid directly into the beneficiary\u2019s bank account once the work has been completed.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Key updates in Conto Termico 3.0<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The new version expands eligibility and updates the list of incentivized interventions. Here are the main points:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Broader pool of beneficiaries:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in addition to private users and public administrations, third-sector organizations, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/blog.imit.it\/en\/renewable-energies\/renewable-energy-community-local-energy-independence\/\"><span 400;\">Private users (individuals, businesses, farmers, apartment buildings)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Public administrations and equivalent bodies<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Third-sector organizations<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Energy communities and collective self-consumption groups<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Applications can be submitted directly or through a certified ESCo \u2014 an Energy Service Company specializing in energy efficiency and formally certified, often according to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.esaenergia.it\/servizi-esco\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">UNI CEI 11352<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (or equivalent standards).<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>How much can be recovered?<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The incentive amount depends on the type of intervention and may cover:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>up to 65%<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of costs for most interventions<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>up to 100%<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for works carried out on public buildings owned by small municipalities, schools, and healthcare facilities<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b>Eligible interventions: renewables and efficiency<\/b><\/h2>\n<h3><b>Renewable thermal technologies<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gse.it\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Conto Termico 3.0<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> supports interventions on existing buildings with an operational HVAC system, including:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">replacement of heating and cooling systems with <\/span><a aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">heat pump water heaters<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">connection to efficient district heating networks<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">renewable-powered micro-cogeneration systems<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">One of the most significant updates is the inclusion of <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/blog.imit.it\/en\/home\/heat-pumps-and-boilers-how-to-optimize-hybrid-temperature-control-in-existing-homes\/\"><b>add-on heat pumps<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, a solution that allows renewable technology to be integrated with an existing condensing boiler, without replacing the entire system.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>How to apply for Conto Termico?<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Direct access:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> application to the GSE within 90 days after the end of the works.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Pre-booking (public sector only):<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> public administrations may apply before carrying out the intervention and receive an advance payment.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For small-scale systems (\u226435 kW or solar thermal &lt;50 m\u00b2), a dedicated <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gse.it\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">GSE catalogue<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is available, listing all pre-approved products.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>When does it enter into force?<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The decree has been published in the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gazzettaufficiale.it\/atto\/serie_generale\/caricaDettaglioAtto\/originario?atto.dataPubblicazioneGazzetta=2025-09-26&amp;atto.codiceRedazionale=25A05263&amp;elenco30giorni=true\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Italian Official Gazette<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and will enter into force 90 days after publication.
